‘Wild Walls’ urban art programme in Ipswich calls for people under 30 to get involved this summer
Art Eat Events in partnership with The Subversiv Collective will deliver a creative urban art programme this summer and autumn. Wild Walls, which is funded by Arts Council England, Ipswich Borough Council and Ipswich Central, is inviting young people between 14 and 30 years old to take part in a series of mural art and VR graffiti art workshops with established street artists, such as ATMA, Woskerski, Nathan Murdoch, and Catalina Carvajal.
The resulting art from the VR graffiti workshops will be exhibited at the University of Suffolk as part of the Wild Walls festival, giving young people the opportunity to showcase their talent. Murals will be painted on a variety of surfaces, from walls to urban furniture.
Open to all ages, the festival itself will see all the summer activities come together with a schedule offering something for everyone! It will include:
- Mural launches
- A mural trail
- Street art in unexpected places
- Free film screenings at King Street Cinema
- Art fair
- VR graffiti art exhibition
- Live street art workshops
- Festival celebration
Workshop and festival dates will be released soon.
Young people living in Ipswich are encouraged to sign-up here to be involved with the workshops and the VR graffiti exhibition: wildwallsfestival.com.

She says: “This is a great opportunity for the young people of Ipswich to get involved in lots of exciting activities over the summer and autumn. We encourage young people and artists to get in touch and help us to make a longstanding mark on the town. Once we complete the murals there will be a festival programme open to people of all ages, and we hope to see you there!”

He adds: “The Subversiv Collective are pleased to be a partner of such an ambitious project for Ipswich. Wild Walls brings creativity to central Ipswich for all to enjoy, from passionate professional street artists and young creatives. It will be empowering for the young people, rewarding for the artists, and great for civic pride.”
